The following is a list of some
of the leaven promoted in the Left Behind Series and on the Tim
LaHaye and Leftbehind.com websites:
Tim LaHaye has
New Age trance background music on his website (timlahaye.com), Leftbehind.com had a New
Age Gospel on their website for years, the message
board at Leftbehind.com promotes occultic books,
movies, and all kinds of compromise, and there are
blatant New
Age and occult markings on the Left Behind Series
(including Tsion referring to his Bible as a
talisman!) This is not the faith of Jesus Christ. It is the
leaven of Antichrist.
Jesus warned
about the leaven of the Pharisees. I am warning you about the
leaven of the Left Behind Series. Spiritual leaven is a
very serious thing. Only a little leaven works through the entire
lump:
A little leaven leaveneth the
whole lump. Galatians 5:9
This verse about leaven is in reference to a
Christian running the race well. Let
us look at this verse in context:
Ye did run well; who did hinder
you that ye should not obey the truth? This persuasion cometh
not of him that calleth you. A little leaven leaveneth the whole
lump. Gal. 5:7-10
Paul was very concerned about the
Christians who were being deceived into thinking that they had to
keep the law in order to be saved. He asked them who had
hindered them that they should not obey the truth? He said that
the one who called them (the Lord Jesus Christ) did not persuade
them not to obey the truth. Paul warned them that a little leaven
(a little false teaching) leavens the whole lump.
This passage can also be applied
to false teachers today who are hindering Christians from obeying
the truth. The Left Behind Series hinders Christians in
many ways so they will not obey the truth.
For example, the Bible teaches
young Christians to lay aside all guile and hypocrisies:
Wherefore laying aside all
malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil
speakings, As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the
word, that ye may grow thereby:If so be ye have tasted that the
Lord [is] gracious. 1 Pet. 2:1-3
The Left Behind Series defies
and perverts this holy admonition with a satanic twist. The
novels depict newborn Christians putting on guile and
hypocrisies so that they can supposedly serve God. And no, they do
not repent of their hypocrisies. The storyline presented the sins
of guile and hypocrisy as the epitome of cleverness, and as
valuable tools to aid Christians in overcoming Antichrist. This
is definitely a soul-subverting example. Hypocrites have their
place, and it is not on the front lines of service to the
Lord Most High:
And shall cut him asunder, and
appoint [him] his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be
weeping and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 24:51
As Long as
the Gospel is Presented, Who Cares About the
Leaven?
The Lord Jesus
Christ cares. The leaven of the Pharisees included
hypocrisy, and Jesus warned against it:
In the mean time,
when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of
people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to
say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven
of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. Luke 12:1
(Oh, but
Christians must practice guile (deceit) and hypocrisy
during the Tribulation, some might protest. Otherwise, they will
certainly be killed.)
Jesus understands
the circumstances under which His followers would be tempted to
commit the sin of hypocrisy. He warned them to not be ensnared
into fearing man more than God and suffering the eternal
consequences:
And I say unto you
my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after
that have no more that they can do.
But I will
forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath
killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear
him. Luke 12:4-5
The followers of
Jesus Christ must purpose to be more than conquerors (over sin)
through Him that loved us!
Purging the
Leaven of Left Behind
Paul likened leaven
with malice and wickedness and unleavened bread with sincerity and
truth:
Therefore let us
keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of
malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of
sincerity and truth. 1 Cor. 5:8
He told Christians
that they are unleavened (full of sincerity and truth) and that
they must purge out the old leaven of malice and wickedness:
Purge out
therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are
unleavened. 1 Cor. 5:7
Paul told them that
their glorying (in a little leaven) is not good:
Your glorying is
not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole
lump? 1 Cor. 5:6
Christians everywhere are
glorying in the Left Behind Series. They defend or discount
(rather than purge out) the leaven of the Left Behind Series. They
have fallen for Satan's lie that as long as there is some truth
in anything that calls itself Christian, then the leaven therein
may be safely tolerated.
God is not
Mocked; Purge Out the Spiritual Leaven
Christians must not be deceived.
God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also
reap. Galatians 6:7
If Christians sow (tolerate)
doctrinal leaven today, they shall reap (come under the influence
of) spiritual deception-- both now and in the perilous
times to come.
Those who love the truth
will not tolerate spiritual leaven in any books that call
themselves Christian. They will purge out the spiritual leaven as
soon as they become aware of it. It is only those who love the
truth who will not come under the God-sent delusion to believe
the lie.
Those who love not the truth
(they tolerate spiritual leaven) but have pleasure in
unrighteousness (they enjoy sin-whether committing it or partaking
of it vicariously) will believe the lie. They will believe That
Wicked is God and be damned. See 2 Thessalonians chapter 2.
God repeated the truth about
damning those who love not the truth in Revelation 22: 15. He will
not permit those who love and make a lie to live with him in his
holy heaven:
For without [are] dogs, and
sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and
whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.Rev. 22:15
Please purge out the leaven of
sin in your life while the Holy Spirit is convicting you. He will
not always strive with you. Yield to Him now so that he no longer
needs to strive with you, but instead, will begin to use you to
bring glory to him as you walk in paths of
righteousness for His name's sake.
