Barbara Aho's watch.pair website has moved away from
upholding the King
James translation as THE Holy Bible in English
(the real Bible in English) and is urging Christians to depend upon an
interlinear, such as the George Ricker Berry
Interlinear as an authoritative tool to verify whether the Textus Receptus
(Received Text) is
accurately translated into English in the Authorized Version (KJV).
At this writing some articles on the watch.pair website cite
the English words chosen by Thomas Newberry, author of the George Ricker Berry
Greek to English Interlinear, as being more authoritative than the KJV.
This is of particular
concern because Barbara Aho promotes the George Ricker Berry Greek to English
Interlinear's "on" rendering and rejects the King James Bible's warning that the
mark of the beast will be "in." (1)
It is most revealing that some
who insist the mark of the beast will be "on" rather than "in" are promoting
microchip implantation for
Christians!
The
reason it is wrong to use the
Interlinear KJV Parallel
Greek-English New Testament
by George Ricker Berry to try to "verify" whether the KJV is properly translated is because the
REAL AUTHOR OF THIS INTERLINEAR —Thomas Newberry—regarded the Received Text
as "faulty" and represented the KJV as having many inaccuracies, errors, and
obscurities in renderings:
The Revised Version.— This is the result of
repeated expressions of dissatisfaction with the Authorised Version,
repeated attempts to amend it, and repeated calls for its revision, on
account of the faulty state of the original text it proceeded upon, the
comparatively defective knowledge of the original languages on the part
of the translators, and the proved presence of many inaccuracies,
errors, and obscurities in the renderings. [Bold emphasis added]
