Judge Greer, in keeping with his Death
Order Doublespeak, lied in his Feb. 25th Order by his inaccurate citation of
his February 2000 court order. He indicated in his Feb. 25th order that his Feb.
2000 order authorized the removal of Terri's nutrition and hydration:
Five years have passed since the issuance of
the February 2000 order authorizing the removal of Theresa Schiavo's nutrition
and hydration and there appears to be no finality in this process.
(Feb.
25, 2005 order to remove nutrition and hydration)
This statement is provably untrue. Judge
Greer's Feb. 11, 2000 court order called for the removal of artificial life
support:
ORDERED AND ADJUDGED that the Petition for
Authorization to Discontinue Artificial Life Support of Michael Schiavo,
Guardian of the Person of Theresa Schiavo, an incapacitated person, be and the
same is hereby GRANTED and Petitioner/Guardian is hereby authorized to proceed
with the discontinuance of said artificial life
support for Theresa Marie Schiavo.
DONE AND ORDERED in Chambers at Clearwater,
Pinellas County, Florida at the hour of 11:50 0'clock 2 am this 11th day of
February, AD, 2000
(Quoted from the Feb. 11, 2000 original court
order.)
Judge Greer tried to re-write
history by stating that his original February 2000 court order used the same
wording—nutrition and hydration—as his February 25th order! This
is not true, and Greer's patently illegal order is now exposed as being
deliberately misleading as well.
Yes, I understand that the media tends to interchange the phrases, "nutrition and hydration," "medical
treatment," and "feeding tube," but a legal
document does NOT use these terms interchangeably!
Nutrition and hydration is not the same as
medical treatment. Assisted nutrition and hydration
is the legal definition of medical treatment.
Judge Greer's statement about five years having
passed since he authorized the removal of Theresa Schiavo's nutrition
and hydration, is a lie. He ordered the removal of Terri's nutrition
and hydration on February 25, 2005 and by no means is this order, which is NOT
the same thing as artificial life support, authorized by
the Florida statutes.
