Greer Awarded At Least Three Times During the Terri Schiavo Trial

The following article is an April 3, 2005 update of the article,  Scientology, the Clearwater Bar Association and Judge Greer

I have just learned that the Clearwater Bar has twice honored Judge Greer with the John U. Baird award due to his performance in the Terri Schiavo case. The St. Petersburg Bar Association also awarded him during the Terri Schiavo trial:

The Clearwater Bar Association twice honored him with the John U. Bird Distinguished Jurist Award, in 2001 and in 2004, in part for his work on the Schiavo case. The St. Petersburg Bar Association gave him its Judicial Appreciation Award in 2004.

Pat Anderson, during the time she represented the Schindlers, "asked four times to have Greer remove himself from the case and once asked an appeals court to remove him for talking to the media about a letter Gov. Jeb Bush sent in an attempt to sway Greer's opinion." Now she has decided not to share her opinion of Judge Greer:

"There is a rule of conduct that prohibits lawyers from making comments critical of judges on the theory that such criticism will reduce the public's confidence in the judiciary,'' Anderson said.

Exposing the actions of a judge who broke laws and judicial canons in his goal to cause the death of a conscious, disabled woman who strongly communicated her will to live is more important than maintaining the appearance of a non-corrupt judiciary!
