| How in the world can Chang receive both marks and be represented as being "saved"? I know the books says he was "forced" to receive the mark of the beast, but the Bible says you can't serve 2 masters or have both marks. You really should have had Chang stand for God and become a Trib Saint. I mean, this IS fiction, isn't it? Not everything in these books are in line with the Bible. Is that the case? Should these books be seen as "fiction" and be left at that? | |||||||||

These books ARE seen as fiction because they ARE fiction. That's why it can happen, it's fiction.

I am glad you understand that Chang can't take the MOB and be saved. In the context of the books, he didn't take the mark, so how could he NOT be saved? He was a Christian whose father forced him to take the mark, by drugging him. He had absolutely no say in what happened to him at the time he was marked. Now on the other hand, if Chang decided that he could survive better with the MOB, so he took it willingly, than he wouldn't be a Christian. Does this make sense? Also I believe in reality, God will not let any Christian be unconcsious enough that they weren't able to resist the MOB, and that it will definitely be a clear cut choice. Also I would like to know how far you've read, because the entire situation is explained in the beginning of Desecration. ------------------------------

Well...as I've said before: First, it's been agreed that Chang didn't TAKE the mark. His dad knocked him out and had the GC apply it when Chang was out to lunch and in no position to take it of his own free will. Second, LB is fiction. Personally, I don't believe that it will happen in real life, because I believe God in his providence wouldn't allow it. Third, that said, man there's been a LOT of controversy about it. Perhaps Mr. Jenkins' response could have something to do with the scathing, slanderous attacks by people Eric Jewell. Eric (for those who are new here) believes that Mr. Jenkins and Dr. Lahaye are in league with the New Agers and Sun Myung Moon (leader of the Unification Church, aka Moonies). He has stirred up more trouble on this board by saying the above things (which is hogwash!!) and saying the authors believe people can take the mark and be saved. They DID NOT say that about Chang. Eric and Co. bear the fruit of those who just want to make trouble. They have made Mr. Jenkins life and many others on here (me included) very miserable. | By this time on these boards, anytime anyone posts this type of question as their first post, it raises questions as to their REAL purpose for asking the question. This person either hasn't read the books, or understands the circumstances in the books, or is here to cause more trouble. If you haven’t read the books, read them and THEN ask questions. If you have read the books and don't understand, would a new born baby be damned forever if his proud parents had them marked minutes after he'd been circumcised? Are we saying no one will be unconscious at anytime during the tribulation so this can't possibly happen? Third, you are here to cause trouble because you think you are special in divining what God has intended, making you a false prophet, which IS elitism, and worth the kind of response from Jerry....I'm also getting bored with the same questions from the same pathetic bunch of ZZZ-squaders. Mr. Jenkins may use the ZZZZZzzzzz to identify Eric and Redz and Cheri, etc... And to the poster who "looks" for elitism...you usually find what you think is already there. Don't condescend to me. I've been here three years. I KNOW the Eric story, and I don't give a rip. What if someone was innocently asking? That's just rude. Jerry could get away with murder and you all would applaud him. Anyone else would get banned if they posted that bitingly.
