"Gospel" Says Jesus Came Back From the Dead to Tell Us What is on the
"Other Side"!
The following
indented section is another segment of the "gospel"
presentation that used to be on the official Left Behind
website.
The Plan
Jesus then rose from the dead on Easter morning proving
that he is God as well as our savior from sin, just as he claimed. This also
means that we know as a fact that death is not the end. There is life after
death. We have no need to rely on psychics or metaphysics or people who have had
near death experiences to tell us what is on the other side. Jesus Christ died
and came back to tell us about it. This same Jesus who is with us as we go
through death. We do not go alone nor is death an uncharted course.

The Lord
Jesus Christ preached many times that death is not the end: "And these shall go
away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life
eternal." (Matthew 25:46) He definitely knew all about what is "on
the other side" and did not come back for the purpose of telling us about it!
Why did the Lord Jesus Christ rise from the dead? Since the doctrine of
the resurrection is one of the most fundamental doctrines of Christianity, it is
important to be accurate about this. Because salvation and justification
is dependent upon what we believe concerning Jesus and his resurrection, then it
is unconscionable to give the false reason given in this bogus, New Age
"gospel" message. "Jesus Christ was raised up again for our
justification" (See Romans 4:24) If we confess with our mouth and
believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved.
Yes, we must believe Jesus was raised bodily from the grave, not just
spiritually. The Plan does not mention that
his resurrection was a physical one, or that he ascended to heaven to sit down
at the right hand of the Father in glory. (Luke 22:69)
The fact that the Lord Jesus Christ rose
bodily from the dead testifies
that our faith is not vain... that his blood sacrifice is sufficient, our sins
are forgiven, and because he rose from the dead, we know we shall be raised from
the dead as well. (See 1 Cor. 15:12)
Jesus rose physically from the
dead and proved his own words: "All power is given unto me in heaven and in
earth!" (1 Pet. 3:22) Jesus has all power and ascended to heaven and is
now seated at the right hand of the Father!
To teach that the Lord Jesus Christ died and came back from the dead in order to
tell us what is on the "other side," is untrue and not found in the Holy
Bible. Furthermore, "the other side" is New Age jargon. Jesus Christ is the Word, and
he was in the beginning! "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was
with God and the Word was God." He certainly did not need to die to tell out what was on the
"other side" when he was there in the
beginning with God and is God!
Furthermore, the phrase, "the other side" is a New Age, occultic
phrase. Sylvia Browne wrote a book called The
Other Side & Back: A Psychic's Guide to Our World & Beyond. Isn't
it interesting that the author of The Plan made
certain to mention that we have no need to rely on psychics and
metaphysics to tell us what is on the "other side." It is
telling that he did not mention that to consult diviners is to sin against God!
There are many phrases in The Plan that reduce the
Lord Jesus Christ to being a mere man even though in other places they state
that he is God. You will see this clever "leavening" process
throughout The Plan. Two or three true statements
will be made, and then they will be
nullified by the next statement. No matter how much truth is
presented,
the lies leaven it and ruin the truth that is presented. (This is an
example of Christian/New Age syncretism.)
Let us continue with this analysis:
"We have no need
to rely on psychics or metaphysics or people who have had near death experiences
to tell us what is on the other side."
Notice the manipulative wording: We have no need
to rely on
psychics or metaphysics to tell us what is on the other side?
There is the implication here that psychics and metaphysics are legitimate
ways to obtain this information. The Bible is explicit in its warnings to those
who consort with occultists for any reason! (See 2 Kings 21:6, 23:24, Lev.
19:31, 20:6, Rev. 22:15, 21:8, Mal. 3:5 )
Saying there is "no need to rely on psychics or
metaphysics" is an outright snare for the reader, because no
warning is given that those who consult psychics are guilty of the serious sin
of consorting with devils!
And to make matters worse, the leftbehind.com author(s) are saying there is no need to consult those
connected with the demonic realm because Jesus took care of finding out what was
"on the other side" himself. Jesus found out what was on the other
side so we do not need to consult occultists to find out? This is closely associating what
occultists try to do (which is abominable sin in the sight of God) with what
they say Jesus' purpose was in rising from the dead!
This Plan presents a New Age "Christ," not the
Lord Jesus Christ of the Holy Bible--of whom there is no other name under heaven
whereby we may be saved.
