Gospel Leaves Behind the Doctrine of Hell!
Let us look at the next page of the
gospel message that used to be on the official "Left Behind" website:
The Plan
Man chose to disobey God
"For all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard. (Romans
3:23) & For the wages of sin is death. (Romans 6:23). It was man's
voluntary choice to rebel against God. As a result God placed the entire
universe under a curse causing suffering, destruction, violence, evil
and death. People receive eternal death and punishment for their sins.
The result of this is seen in the illnesses, pain, suffering and death
that all living creatures experience. Violent and destructive natural
phenomena, pollution of our environment and the death of ecological
systems are also the result of God's curse, not the complaints of some
earth goddess named "Gaia."
"People receive eternal death and
punishment for their sins." Here we have the horrifying reality of hell
left out of the "gospel" message! Eternal death and punishment is not
specific enough to describe the punishment that awaits those who are
lost. Jesus warned of hell and any true gospel presentation must
include the truth about hell.
First the reality of a holy God is absent, and now they leave out
the fact of hell, and instead mention "eternal death and punishment."
It's no wonder...a HOLY God made HELL for the unholy devil and his
angels and those who follow the course of this world, which is under the
control of the evil one. God's holiness demands eternal punishment in
fire that never shall be quenched. See Matt. 5:22, 5:30, 10:28, 11:23,
18:9, 23:15; Mark 9:43, 9:45, 9:47, etc. There are at least 24
references to hell in the New Testament. This is the wrath to come.
What's the opposite of wrath? Salvation! "For God hath not appointed us
to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ," Christians,
those who are saved by the blood of the lamb, are not appointed to
wrath. EVERYONE else is!
Being tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy
angels and of the Lamb will be unleashed upon those who "shall drink of
the wine of the wrath of God."--see Rev. 14:10
The Bible says, "For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the
children of disobedience:"--Col. 3:6 Again we see the Bible teaching us
the wrath of God is for the lost--the children of disobedience. This is
repeated in Eph. 5:6
The wrath of God abides on those who have not the Son of God: "He that
believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not
the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."
Jesus died to save us from our sins (the penalty and power of our sins)
so we won't receive the wrath of God--eternal hellfire--justly due to
us!
Wrath is for the unsaved, not the saved. Why does the Left Behind
website's gospel message leave out hell, which is the fate of the lost,
who are in fact, "vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:"--Romans 9:22
The fact about the triune nature of God and the title, "Lord Jesus
Christ" has not been mentioned but the false goddess, Gaia—who many New
Agers believe is the true creator—is included in this segment of the
presentation. "Oh, but this was done so those who worship Gaia will be
steered away from her," one might protest.
Oh really? Then why is the one true,
Most High God not accurately described in this "gospel" presentation?
None of the names of God or the title: Lord Jesus Christ is mentioned
here, but the name of a specific demon god IS mentioned minus the
description of the real God.
