Examine Yourself

"Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?" (2 Corinthians 13:5 KJV)

Here are the exam questions for after you've accepted Christ and begun to grow in Him. if the "evidences that neither prove nor disprove one's faith" is true of a person and the "fruit, proofs of authentic, true Christianity" is false, there is cause to question the validity of one's profession of faith.

Yet if the "fruit, proofs of authentic, true Christianity" are true, then "the evidences that neither prove nor disprove one's faith" will also be true.

Evidences that neither prove nor disprove one's faith

1. Visible Morality (Matthew 19:16-2 1; 23:27).

2. Intellectual Knowledge (Romans 1:2 1; 2:17-29).

3. Religious Involvement (Matthew 25:1-10; 1 John 2:19).

4. Active Ministry (Matthew 7:21-24; Philippians 1:15-18; Isaiah 55:11).

5. Conviction of Sin (Acts 24:25).

6. Assurance (Matthew 23:1-39).

7. Time of Decision (Luke 8:13-14; 8:5-15).

The fruit, proofs of authentic, true Christianity

1. Love for God (1 John 5:1-2; Psalms 42:1-11; 73:25; Luke 10:27; Romans 8:7).

2. Repentance from Sin (2 Corinthians 7:10; Psalms 32:5; Proverbs 28:13; Romans 7:14-25; 1 John 1:8-10; Luke 19:8-9).

3. Genuine Humility (Psalms 51:17; James 3:13; Matthew 5:1-12; James 4:6,9,13-17).

4. Devotion to God's Glory (Psalms 105:3; Psalms 115:1; Isaiah 43:7; Isaiah 48:10-20; Jeremiah 9:23-24; 1 Corinthians 10:3 1).

5. Continual Prayer (Luke 18:1; James 4:13; James 5:13; Ephesians 6: 18-20; Philippians 4:6-8; 1 Timothy 2:1-4; James 5:16-18).

6. Selfless Love (John 13:35; James 2:1; James 1:19; James 3:5-6; James 3:9-10; 1 John 2:9-29; 3:7-12,14; 4:7-21).

7. Separation from the World (1 Corinthians 2:12; 1 John 5:18; James 4:1,4-17; 1 John 2:15-17; 5:5).

8. Spiritual Growth (John 15:8; Luke 8:15; John 15:1-6,16; Galatians 5:22-23; 2 Peter 1:5-8; Ephesians 4:12-16).

9. Obedient Living (1 John 3:9; 2:29; James 1:19; 2:14; John 8:30-32; 1 John 5:18; James 1:13; Romans10:8-11; 1 John 2:3-6; Revelation 21:27; 1 John 3:4-6; 2 Timothy 2:15; Galatians 5:19-21; Mark7:21-23; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; 1 John 3:7-10; Matthew 7:21; John 15:14-23; 1 Peter 1:22; 1 Peter1:2).

10. Perseverance (James 1:2-3; 1 John 5:4; Revelation 14:12; Revelation 13:10; Revelation 2:2-3; Revelation 1:9; 1 Corinthians 9:27; 2 Peter 1:5-6; 2 Thessalonians 1:4; 1 Timothy 4:16).

May you know God and may you know crystal-clear that you have salvation through God's Son Jesus.
