"Catch the
Bus"—
To The Center of the Earth
On March 2, 2006, approximately two months
after I began posting to alt.suicide.holiday (ASH) and alt.suicide.methods (ASM)
usenet groups, I started the
thread, "Catch the Bus--To The Center of the Earth" in both forums.
This post addresses the flippant CTB [catch the bus] acronym that is bandied about with such
frequency on the suicide forums that it qualifies as a trigger word. "Catch the
bus," which is a euphemism for taking one's life, links the horrific act of
suicide with a normal, commonplace activity of modern life.
Catch the Bus--To The Center of the Earth
A passenger who catches a
bus is transported somewhere. Those who
catch the Suicide
Bus are transported to the center of
the earth where the temperature exceeds 12,000
degrees Farenheit:
"The Birmingham News, April 10, 1987 had an
article entitled "Earth's Center Hotter
Than Sun's Surface, Scientists Say". The article stated that scientists have
recently discovered, "THE EARTH'S INNER
CORE HAS A TEMPERATURE OF OVER 12,000 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT!" [1]
Revelation 14:10 says,
" . . . and he shall be tormented
with fire and BRIMSTONE . . ." And Job 18 describes the " . . . PLACE of him
that knoweth not God" (vs 21), in verse 15 as, " . . . BRIMSTONE shall be
scattered upon his habitation." [2]
Do you know what brimstone is? It's sulfur. And
do you know where sulfur or brimstone is found? INSIDE THIS
EARTH! According to the book Volcanoes by
Pierre Kohler (p. 43) when Mt. St Helens erupted in 1980 - 150,000 tons of
sulfurous gas was ejected! Job is the oldest book in the Bible, written over
3,000 years ago, and yet Job knew what science wouldn't know for years - inside
this earth is BRIMSTONE!" [3]
If the people who advocate suicide really believe that suicide is the step to
unconscious nothingness, why do you use a catchphrase that indicates that
suicide is really about GOING SOMEWHERE?

While not all ASH and ASM posters have a
satanic worldview, the insiders' responses indicate whom they serve.
Predictably, many responses
included the mockery of
the biblical doctrine of hell. Core ASHers [4] and
ASMers[5] are committed to the agenda of convincing their readers
that hell does not exist and suicide is a ticket to permanent pain relief.
One poster [who has deleted her
post] remarked that the
body would be destroyed before the trip was made to the center of the earth. I
replied:
It is not one's physical body
that travels to the center of the
earth
(hell) after suicide. It is one's spiritual body (which can see, think,
feel,
hear, smell, etc.) that makes the horrible trip.
Another poster [9] accused me of following
Satan (this accusation has been repeated several times on ASH), another [13]
made a filthy remark about another poster's mother, a poster [16] compared
Christianity to Islam (the new world planners want people to place Christianity
and Islam in the same category), another poster [17] asked how the word eternity
came to be in the Hebrew Bible and then charged me with converting sexual sadism
into religion.
One Poster Asked if Suicide
is Obedience to God
One poster asked an on-topic
question about the Bible.

I did not answer at the time but
recently sent the reply below to his email address.
No, killing yourself is not
obeying the commandment of the very Lord whose gospel I have been proclaiming on
ASH. Killing yourself is SATAN'S commandment, and he is the lord the core
group of ASHers serve.
Part of "hating your own life" (that means giving up control of your life to
God) is living to the glory of God even if you are not personally fulfilled by
your life circumstances.
Those who commit suicide love themselves more than they love God because they
take the control away from God, who created them, and take it upon themselves to
choose how they will live and when and how they will die.
Christians must offer their bodies
as living sacrifices unto God:
Rom 12:1 I beseech you
therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a
living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable
service.
Living the life that God gave
you and expects you to use to glorify him, is your reasonable (not unreasonable)
service to Him. God (not
man) is the one who has the authority to appoint a man to die:
Hbr 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die,
but after this
the judgment:
Do not replace God's appointed time for your
death with your own.
To do so is to be your own god and despise the God who gave you life.
Please do not
"catch the bus" to the center of the earth where the fire and your
suffering will never be quenched. Instead, be
reconciled to God and live for him in
this world and the next.
