Left Behind "Gospel" Leaves Behind the Blood of Jesus!
The following indented section is
another segment of the "gospel" presentation
that used to be on
the official Left Behind website.
For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. (II Corinthians 5:21). Jesus perfectly obeyed God's law and fulfilled all of God's demands in our place so that God can credit his obedience to our record. Jesus also took the guilt for our sin; dying on the cross and suffering the punishment we deserve. This made it possible for God to forgive our sins and hand down a "Not Guilty" verdict for us, while not just overlooking evil and doing nothing about it. Though we deserve to die because of our sins, Jesus died in our place, thereby freeing us from eternal death and punishment.

Here again we have major elements of the true gospel left out. We read that "Jesus also took the guilt for our sin; dying on the cross and suffering the punishment we deserve." The blood that Jesus willingly shed to cleanse us from our sins is left out of this entire presentation! Jesus washed those who believe in him from their sins with his own
blood: " .... Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood," Rev. 1:5
We must have faith in his blood: "Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;"-Rom. 3:25
A bloodless gospel is "another gospel"--a gospel that does not save! "Without the shedding of blood there is no remission"-Heb. 9:22 Christians are those who have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb. Even Jesus Christ himself spoke of his blood he would shed: "For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins."--Matt. 26:28
No innocent blood of Jesus Christ shed for the payment of our sins = no salvation.
Let us continue with my next observation: "This made it possible for God to forgive our sins and hand down a "Not Guilty" verdict for us, while not just overlooking evil and doing nothing about it." The Most High God of the Holy Bible is holy, pure and righteous, which the writer of
The Plan did not choose to point out in this presentation. The Holy God
of the Bible could not and would not ever overlook evil. It is not in his
nature and would never happen. The writer should have worded this more
forcefully, like "because he would not overlook evil and do nothing about
it." The reader is being presented with the idea that God could overlook evil, but he chose not to.
"Though we deserve to die because of our sins, Jesus died in our place, thereby freeing us from eternal death and punishment." The truth is that all deserve to burn eternally in hell because of our sins. Jesus is our Suffering Substitute; he shed his blood for the remission of our sins. Those who are saved by faith in his blood will escape eternal damnation in hell. Notice again the vague words: "eternal death and punishment." What does it mean to be eternally dead? They provide no explanation. What is eternal punishment? No explanation.
The wording here is quite vague and could mean anything. Why do they insist on leaving out the truth of the shed blood of Jesus, which is the only way our sins can be cleansed and forgiven and of hell, which Jesus warned about over and over?
Sins are washed away by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are justified by his blood (Romans 5:9), we have redemption and forgiveness of sins through his blood (Ephesians 1:7, Col. 1:14, and we have peace and reconciliation with God through the blood of the cross.
When one takes away the blood of Christ one presents another Christ and another gospel, which describes
The Plan of leftbehind.com perfectly.
