John MacArthur's
Halloween Damage Control For Satan
|
John MacArthur, via an article on
his Grace to You website called "Christians and Halloween—written by Travis
Allen—did some heavy Halloween damage control for Satan.
First of all, the title, "Christians and Halloween,"(1) is
syncretism. Real Christians and Halloween have
as much in common as God and Satan do, but the Grace to You writer links them together.
John
MacArthur's damage control for Satan via Travis Allen:
"First, Christians should not respond to Halloween like superstitious pagans.
Pagans are superstitious; Christians are enlightened by the truth of God's Word.
Evil spirits are no more active and sinister on Halloween than they are on any
other day of the year; in fact, any day is a good day for Satan to prowl about
seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). But "greater is He who is in you than
he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4). God has forever "disarmed principalities
and powers" through the cross of Christ and "made a public spectacle of them,
triumphing over them through [Christ]" (Colossians 2:15)."
John MacArthur is using his Grace to You ministry platform to cause Christians
to believe that Satan's high days have no more demonic activity than any other
days! According to this propaganda, Christians who obey God and reprove the
evils of Halloween are akin to superstious pagans.
John
MacArthur's damage control for Satan via Travis Allen:
"Evil spirits are no more active and sinister on Halloween than they are on any
other day of the year"
THE TRUTH: Halloween is a time when evil spirits/devils are much more active
because high-level witches and satanists are
ritually torturing and killing
people and animals which result in the conjuration of devils which appear before
them and carry out their assignments (curses).
Regarding the emphasis on God's disarming of principalities and powers, John MacArthur's guest writer conveniently omits the
Bible's
warnings to "have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but
rather reprove them" (Eph. 5:11)
and "Neither give place to the
devil" (Eph. 4:27).
John
MacArthur's damage control for Satan via Travis Allen:
"Some people fear the activity of Satanists or pagan witches, but the actual
incidents of satanic-associated crime are very low. The real threat on Halloween
is from the social problems that attend sinful behavior—drunk driving,
pranksters and vandals, and unsupervised children."
THE TRUTH: I am astonished at how boldly this Grace to You sermon is denying the
human sacrifice that goes on all over the world on Halloween. Halloween is
primarily about human sacrifice. Even the
trick-or-treat tradition symbolizes
human sacrifice!
John
MacArthur's promotion of Halloween rituals via Travis Allen: "There's nothing
inherently evil about candy, costumes, or trick-or-treating in the
neighborhood."
THE TRUTH: From the darkened perspective of witches and Freemasons there is
nothing evil about Halloween traditions and rituals. (Their definition of evil
is the opposite of God's definition of evil.)
In contrast, God doesn't have a perspective or a view. His word is absolute
truth: "Abstain from the appearance of evil."
Halloween doesn't merely appear to be evil. Halloween—including all of its
rituals and traditons—IS evil, just as its inventor—Satan—is evil.
In conclusion, John MacArthur, (via the article on his website by Travis Allen)
is teaching Christians that there is no more demonic activity going on during
Halloween than any other day of the year and that there is nothing wrong with
the rituals of Halloween which include candy, costumes and trick-or-treating.
How typical of a Masonic-marked minister (2) to have an article on his website
that does damage control for Satan and promotes participation in Halloween—the day of the
year when Satan receives the most bloodshed and glory.

(2) In like manner as
Charles Spurgeon, John MacArthur uses many Masonic/occult
terms and includes some Masonic titles for God in his sermons.
